An Organic Garden First Birthday Party

When it came time for Lillian’s birthday, I knew I wanted a lush, organic, floral vibe. The theme that I kept coming back to was “Lilly in Bloom” so I reached out to my favorite florist, Belovely Designs, to design an abundance of rustic, summery arrangements and my favorite part, a flower crown display.

Our sweet girl has a larger than life personality so I wanted bright, lively colors and a venue that reflected her wild spirit. I found Greensgrow Farms to be the perfect location for us because it’s a nonprofit with a philanthropic heart, beautifully rustic and urban at once and even has a rescue pig (named Milkshake!) and chickens on site in the middle of the city!

Much of the food was grown in the greenhouses at the venue and guests were satiated with an Italian picnic style feast in small bite form. The little ones danced along to a guitarist who played Lilly’s favorites from The Rolling Stones and Tom Petty and romped around the rows of greenery.

Lilly was a bit overwhelmed by the Happy Birthday song but I can attest that her vegan coconut and vanilla ombré smash cake and cupcakes from Crust Vegan Bakery were beyond delicious! It’s so wonderful how accessible dairy-free treats are these days and Philly has such an amazing vegan food scene.

It was the most joyful day surrounded by family and friends whom we consider family and so many sweet little ones in a garden in the city. I’m just in love with all the beautiful photos from Carly Landolt Photography and want to relive the day over and over again. Everyone went home with organic wildflower seeds, flower crowns, and full bellies — it was just perfect!
