Meaningful Christmas Ideas

Person Bauble
This is a lovely idea for grandparents if you have a new baby or a young child.

  • Take time to arrange the space you are in for 'fun'

  • Get the child to pick the colour

  • Allow the child to place their hand on the bauble

This will give you a great time with your child as an ADHD mum, and you'll get a great gift.

* Don't go to a professional place to paint an arranged bauble. The child doesn't always have fun being forced to place their hand on the bauble and babies really don't like it
As an ADHD mum the experience will sit with you because your child is unhappy-every time you see the bauble.

Cards and wrapping paper
This is a great idea for messy time. And also if you want something personal for the parents or grandparents without making the gift itself too personal

  • Take time to arrange the space you are in for 'fun'

  • Get the child to pick the colour

  • Allow the child to place their hand on the paper and their feet if they like

  • Take a photo( try and get the tree in the background, maybe wearing a Christmas jumper) and make a Christmas label using the photo too.

This will give you a great time with your child as an ADHD mum. You will create something personal for the child but the gift is 'grown up'.

Then and now photo
This can be of a child or of parents and grandparents.

Need- two 7x5 photo frames

2x small hinges(to fit the side of the frame

Screw driver to fir screws.

  • Take a photo of when they were young together.

  • Take two photo frames and some tiny hinges and screw them together as they open like a book.

  • Put an old photo one side and a new one the other

This is sentimental and it shows you took time and effort. A real tummy warmer.

Personal hamper or stocking
This is a great idea for friends and family and also if you want something personal for the parents or grandparents from your child

  • Take time to find gifts that are inexpensive but chosen by the child

  • If you are buying for family or friends, be attentive to their likes - no matter how small- and put all their favourite things in there.(sometimes just favourite chocolate bars and smelly candles or even favourite shampoo does the trick) Its not just the gift its the knowledge that you 'get'them.

  • Find a great stocking to match their personality

  • Sometimes a joke old photo of them can be great

  • Fill them together with your child if you are doing it with grandparents. Its about their memories as well as yours.

This will give you a great time with your child as an ADHD mum.
