Seeing Things Another Way
A gentle self-awareness story for young children with ADHD
Seeing Things Another Way is the second book in the Casper and Bentley Self-Awareness Series for children aged 2–7.
In this gentle story, Casper feels uncomfortable and unhappy when he believes Bentley is angry with him. With patient support, Casper learns that his feeling came from an assumption — and that situations can sometimes be understood in more than one way.
This book supports early self-awareness by helping children notice how thoughts and assumptions can affect feelings, and by gently introducing the idea that feelings don’t always reflect what is really happening.
Designed with ADHD in mind, the focus is not on correcting thoughts or changing behaviour, but on awareness before regulation. The story is intended to be read slowly, revisited often, and used to build understanding and emotional safety over time.
A short parent guide is included to support gentle reflection and connection in everyday moments.
